Special Abbreviations

FPdc (Front Post double crochet): Yo, insert hook from

front to back to front around post of indicated st; yo and

draw up lp, [yo and draw through 2 lps on hook] twice.

MOTIF (make 64)

Ch 4; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.

Round 1 (right side): Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and

throughout), work 11 more dc in ring; join with sl st in top of

beginning ch-3 – 12 dc.

Round 2: Ch 3, FPdc around same dc as join (increase

made), *dc in next dc, FPdc around same dc (increase

made); repeat from * 10 more times; join with sl st in top of

beginning ch-3 – 24 sts.

Round 3: Ch 3, dc in next st, FPdc around same FPdc,

*dc in next 2 sts, FPdc around same FPdc; repeat from *

dc in each st to first dc; join with sl st in top of beginning

Round 3: Sl st in next dc (center dc of 3-dc corner of

afghan), ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 2 more dc in same
